Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Learn more about how our AI combines ancient wisdom with modern technology.

Ayuveda AI™ is specialized and grounded in authentic Ayurvedic texts, unlike general purpose LLMs which can "hallucinate" or provide generic web-based information.

Our system uses sophisticated RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) technology to reference classical texts like Charaka Samhita, Sushruta Samhita, and Ashtanga Hridaya before generating any response. This ensures that every piece of advice is traceable to legitimate Ayurvedic wisdom, providing a higher level of accuracy and safety for health-related queries.

Furthermore, general AI models often treat Ayurveda as "alternative medicine" with skepticism. Ayuveda AI™ understands the deep logic and scientific basis of Ayurvedic principles, acting as a true expert companion rather than a synthesizer of random internet articles.

Gentle Morning Stretches (Laghu Vyayama) (Laghu Vyayama)

Laghu Vyayama refers to 'light exercise' or gentle movement. In the Ayurvedic tradition, these movements are intended to move stagnant energy (Kapha) accumulated during sleep and promote a sense of lightness and clarity (Sattva).

When to practise

Best practiced in the early morning, ideally after elimination and before breakfast, during the Kapha time of day (roughly 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM) to counteract morning heaviness.

Beginner shortcut

If time is limited, focus solely on neck rotations and shoulder rolls while seated, which can be done in under 3 minutes.

Where it fits in your routine

  • Abhyanga (Self-Massage)
  • Pranayama (Breathwork)
  • Meditation

What you need

  • Yoga Mat: Provides a stable, non-slip surface for movement.
  • Comfortable Clothing: Loose-fitting, breathable natural fibers that allow for a full range of motion.

How to practise

  • 1. Neck Rotations: Stand or sit with a tall spine. Slowly drop your chin to your chest, then gently roll your right ear toward your right shoulder, back, left ear to left shoulder, and return to center. Repeat 3 times in each direction.
  • 2. Shoulder Rolls: Inhale as you lift your shoulders toward your ears, then exhale as you roll them back and down. Focus on releasing tension in the upper back and neck area.
  • 3. Side Body Stretch: Stand with feet hip-width apart. Inhale and reach your right arm overhead, exhaling as you lean gently to the left. Keep your chest open. Return to center and repeat on the other side.
  • 4. Standing Spinal Twist: Stand with feet slightly wider than hip-width. Gently twist your torso from side to side, allowing your arms to swing loosely and tap your body. Keep the movement fluid and rhythmic.

Benefits

  • May support improved circulation
  • Encourages joint mobility and flexibility
  • Helps reduce morning stiffness
  • Promotes a sense of mental alertness

Cautions

  • Stop immediately if you experience pain, dizziness, or irritation.
  • Consult with a qualified healthcare practitioner before beginning any new exercise routine, especially if you are pregnant, have chronic health conditions, or are taking medications.
  • Avoid forceful movements or over-stretching beyond your natural range of motion.

Common mistakes

  • Moving too quickly or with force
  • Holding the breath during movement
  • Ignoring physical discomfort or sharp pain
  • Practicing immediately after a heavy meal

Dosha notes

  • vata: Focus on slow, rhythmic, and grounding movements. Avoid excessive jumping or rapid changes in direction.
  • kapha: Focus on slightly more vigorous, warming movements to stimulate circulation and reduce heaviness.
  • pitta: Focus on cooling, moderate-paced movements. Avoid overheating the body.

Seasonal notes

In winter and spring (Kapha seasons), you may increase the intensity slightly to generate warmth. In summer (Pitta season), keep movements slow and cooling.

Frequently asked questions

Can I practice this if I am feeling very tired?

Yes, Laghu Vyayama is designed to be gentle. If you are fatigued, focus on very slow, mindful movements that do not exhaust you.

How do I know if I am pushing too hard?

If your breath becomes ragged, if you feel sharp pain, or if you feel lightheaded, you are likely pushing beyond your current capacity. Slow down and focus on steady, rhythmic breathing.
