Colon cancer is a growth of cells that begins in the large intestine (colon), the final part of the digestive tract. It often begins as small, noncancerous clumps of cells called polyps that form on the inside of the colon. Over time, some of these polyps can become colon cancers. It is frequently grouped with rectal cancer and referred to as colorectal cancer.

Ayurvedic perspective
Colon cancer is categorized under 'Arbuda' (malignant growth) specifically affecting the 'Pakvashaya' (colon). It is viewed as a consequence of chronic 'Mandagni' (weak digestive fire) and 'Ama' (toxic accumulation) which causes 'Dhatu Paka' (tissue degradation). The condition signifies a total loss of cellular intelligence (Prana) in the intestinal wall due to prolonged accumulation of metabolic waste.
Ayurvedic dietary guidelines
Prioritize fiber-rich, easily digestible whole grains like red rice and barley
Consume cooked vegetables such as bottle gourd, pumpkin, and ash gourd
Avoid red meat, processed foods, and refined sugars
Incorporate ghee in small quantities to lubricate the colon
Avoid incompatible food combinations (Viruddha Ahara) such as milk with fish
